Remember, information is power.  Not power to destroy or hurt; but power to make the best of a difficult situation.  Divorces vary in the degree of conflict experienced by the divorcing spouses.  This website is designed to help you make informed decisions during the divorce process while helping you get through it all as quickly as possible, for as little expense as possible, with a minimal amount of emotional strife.  There is no one-size-fits-all divorce but there are a few general types of divorces:

Sometimes the issues in a divorce are fairly easy to resolve.  You may be able to reach an agreement between the two of you, file your own papers with the court, and get your divorce finalized without the aid of an attorney.  If you believe this paragraph best describes your situation, you can find all the necessary legal documents by clicking here.

Sometimes divorcing spouses disagree over just one or two issues regarding the divorce (for example you might agree on custody but do not agree on a parent time schedule).   A mediator might be able to help work out a balanced agreement without the use of attorneys.  Once you reach an agreement, you can file that with your final divorce papers and obtain your divorce.  If you believe this paragraph best describes your divorce situation, you can find a mediator and locate all the necessary legal documents by clicking here.

Sometimes divorcing spouses cannot resolve their divorce issues by themselves.  Your divorce may include issues of spouse/child abuse, substance abuse, huge disagreements over child custody, or how to divide your assets.  Many times you will need to engage the services of an attorney to resolve these issues while protecting your legal rights.  Some of these cases eventually have to be decided by a judge.  If you believe this paragraph best describes your divorce situation, you can find a mediator, learn what you need to know to protect your rights, and locate a divorce attorney by clicking here.

No one gets married contemplating a divorce.  Couples marry, buy homes, and start families.  Divorcing couples must consider the needs of their children as the divorce is taking place.  If you have children together, you may no longer love each but you may both still love your children and wish to help rear and care for them.  Divorcing parents are often required to continue parenting their children from separate homes for many years to come.  In these cases, it is important you work to protect the best interests of your children.  Click here for tips on how to reduce conflict in the divorce process, create two homes that work together to protect and love your children, and maintain a united goal of keeping your children’s best interests at the forefront.
